Roguelike Roulette [Slot 1d]

Level 6: "This place looks uninteresting"

Uninteresting, but right where she emerges Marash finds another pair of boots and a stack of bolts.

The first path she tries is blocked by mold.

She finds stairs down quickly, decides to explore more first.

A green jelly blocks one path. Down another she discovers a group of hostile mages. At first they seem to die easily, but after killing five there are still more, and Marash nearly gets herself caught out in an open room pursuing them. She pulls back to recover and wait for them to come to her.

Marash has cleared a path through the dungeon, spies a pair of mages in the room ahead

One of them casts a spell to blind her, but Marash pulls back so they have only a single approach and swings wildly. She feels her mace connect satisfyingly, followed by the sound of a body hitting the ground.

Marash recovers her vision, only to see a pair of hostile mages before her

She waits, tense. Just as her eyes clear, another mage hits her. She can see two standing before her. The near one flees when she strikes it. The other, steps up to be killed; she grabs a scroll it drops and heads out warily after what she believes is the last mage.

Very mistaken. As she pursues, she can see at least two more mages in different directions.

Final mage showdown

The one she pursued dropped quickly. She hits the next one hard, but it blinks away as she closes in to kill, so she turns on the one from the north. After running that mage down, Marash returns to the big room and kills what is hopefully the really last mage, winning a Chromium wand from its corpse.

She breathes. 9 mages at once. She helps herself to a pair of boots and a potion laying around, stumbles across a blue ooze, and is worried to see it pursue her. All the other monsters like that seemed to be stationary.

Shortly, she seems to have left it behind. Time to head for the stairs anyway.

As Marash heads back stairward she hears a door burst open in the distance. Worrying, might be a dangerous interruption.

Passing a green jelly, she manages to pick a lock to reveal Farmer Maggot's other dog, Fang, just as she is feeling weak from hunger.

A green jelly and Farmer Maggot's elite dog make Marash nervous

Fang turned out to be no bother, nor were eating and getting back to the stairs eventful.
