The Swedish Poster

Okay, this is a bit weird. I received an email from an address I had never seen before this morning. Normally, I'd expect this to be spam, but it managed to make it past the filters. Furthermore, the subject had little to do with sex, free pharmaceuticals, or improving much derided parts of my anatomy.

Instead, it seemed an honest request:

Hi there
my name is [name withheld] i am really interested in the purchase of your works and i need it for my personal use because i just aquired a new apartment here and i am currently doing some decorations and also just to let you know i saw you online while i was looking for a digital artist in MN,so please let me know if i may make a purchase from you,so thanks so much and patiently await your response asap, also please do you have any new works if you do,pleease can you email me a link to it
regards
[name withheld]

The closing of the email appeared to be advertising free webmail and hosting in Swedish.

Naturally, my first thoughts were, Who the hell are you? What the hell is the deal? And how in the hell did you get this address? I don't list my email address on deninet, and I make it a point to block it's public listing on any site on which I currently have an account. The fact that I'm receiving an email from an unknown source indicates a hole in my security.

Reading the email, I can only guess that he found me via MNartsts.org. I maintain a small presence there -- a member profile listing my last three DOR pictures. I found it odd that he had found my email via the site as I thought I had blocked display of the address. After looking at my profile, however, I found an unsubscribe link that pointed to my address. I quickly removed it and replaced it with a link to my webpage instead.

Paranoid considerations aside, the email appears to be overall an honest request. A request from a recent immigrant with beginning English skills. I do have prints available on DeviantART for two of the three pieces I have listed on MNartists.org, but few others available. Shall I point him in that direction?

It's hard for me not to want to ignore him, thinking this all some sort of a ruse.
