Last week after I asked the toy librarian if I could list her as a reference, she gave me one of the toy library pamphlets to copy her email address from. I put it in my shirt pocket so I would not forget it.

Last week was a further descent in caring for the toy library. Seemed just about everything returned incomplete. One item came back as nothing but its lid and a single puzzle pieces. Sets without barcodes that we therefore cannot tell the library system are returned, accumulate.

The staff at the local pharmacist, the staff at the unemployment office, the staff at the local library.

Despite learning the test for my unrestricted licence would not involve a live driving evaluation, I've kept up focusing on driving carefully and according to the road rules (not that I'd ever been flouting them, but am trying to be conscientious so as not to fall into bad habits), and continuing since attaining the licence. I'd feel silly having my first accident so soon after getting out of all that licencing procedure.

Last week I had my first experience running a toy library session by myself. The first half was fairly usual, as I already often do those unassisted. This time I take extra care to not forget anything in set-up. I have of course been trying to do so every time, but I'd especially like to get everything right when it feels like a chance to prove myself.

Some things would have made unusual to my so-far experience anyway, such as the box of bath toys in the returns, still wet from presumably someone's bath. Left those out a while to dry after cleaning.

It has been four years since I began the process of getting licensed to drive. This morning I finally had my test to qualify for an unrestricted licence.

Today was one of those days in which I head down to return and clean up the toy backlog, so tomorrow doesn't have to deal with it.

This time was a bit easier to get started, as the first librarian I encountered is new and took me at my word when I claimed a need for the key.

*walks past laundry and into family room*

Mother: What's up?
Me: ... I walked too far.

Got a call a couple of weeks ago from the toy library, asking if I would be returning to volunteer again this year. Definitely yes; in fact my first day back was yesterday.

I was very nervous to begin with because, as usual, I arrived well before the librarian herself (she has to travel around between multiple libraries during the day and often is delayed) and so it fell to me to open up the toy library for the day again.

The following violates my single topic per post rule. I blame myself for not updating more diligently.

Offered to drive my sister to the station on Monday, as she'd just missed her bus. That was how we found out the car wasn't working. Bit of a worry, as I had an appointment Tuesday with my case manager.

I was sure it was not the battery, as I had driven the car just a few days after I got back and it was fine then. Plus that excursion was in the middle of the day, making it very unlikely I could have left the lights on.

Found out why I've been having such persistent pain at the back left of my mouth. Not actually the fault of this sickness at all; I felt back with fingers and inspected in mirror, it appears I have some kind of welt or wound back there. Not sure what to do except hope it heals quickly.

Very bothersome indeed, kind of worrying.
